Kick-off meeting

This event is the Kick-off Meeting of the Planning for Social Justice Conference that will take place in July 2021. It is conceived in synergy with the DAStU Territorial Fragilities Project and is part of the dissemination activities of the ongoing research project MEtropolitan Governance and planning processes dealing with social jUstice and the TerritoriAL Cohesion Policy. MEGUAL main objective is to suggest antifragile planning strategies at regional/metropolitan scale, working on the production of ‘unjust geographies’ (Soja 2010) between Italy and Brazil. Today speeches will offer the Brazilian perspective on metropolitan planning and its relationship with the concept of Social Justice as a first result of the research, while the Conference. The meeting is also the occasion for the launch of the Young Investigator Training Program (YITP) funded by the Association of foundations and saving banks (ACRI). The program will offer to young researchers who are working abroad up to seven scholarships for short-lasting research period to spend in seven Italian Universities (Sapienza Universitá di Roma, Universitá IUAV di Venezia, Universitá degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Politecnico di Milano, Universitá degli Studi di Firenze, Universitá degli Studi di Palermo, Politecnico di Torino).
